WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Prepare and maintain diagnostic equipment and supplies. Schedule patients in a timely and consistent manner. Perform STAT and ASAPs as outlined in department guidelines. Respond appropriately to call. Demonstrate clinical competence. Make notifications of clinical significance which could affect the interpretation of a test, including patient history and physiological findings. Compile all paperwork appropriately and in a timely manner. Assures transfer of data to interpreting physician. Utilize appropriate safety measures for all concerned within area of responsibility. Verify each patient’s identification by armband or by inquiry of patient that requires certain information known to them to confirm their identity. Obtain, review and utilize all historical information relevant to the procedure being requested. Educate and inform patients to promote understanding and cooperation to insure optimal quality of procedures. Instruct and orient employees and students in proper performance of diagnostic procedures and functions of the department. Review test images to check for quality and sufficient coverage. Compare patients’ most recent scans to previous results and assess diagnostic information. Provide summary findings for physicians and other medical professionals involved with a patient’s case. Adhere to OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNREC, and JCAHO safety codes, regulations, and requirements.
